Joined Indian Administrative Service in 1974 (U.P. Cadre). Served, with distinction, for more than 35 years in the field of Planning, Industry, Agriculture & Co-operation, Education, Irrigation, Public Works and Home. Joined as State Election Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh on 11th April, 2012.

After 73rd and 74th Constitutional Amendments, the responsibility of conducting free & fair elections of Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies in the state has been vested in the State Election Commission under article 243K & 243ZA of the constitution of India.     read more...
